About the Author

Alan Thereault is a U.S. Air Force veteran whose career spanned more than two decades across military service, analytical work, and support to national-security missions. After retiring at the rank of E-7, he transitioned into roles focused on research, technology, and organizational risk analysis—work that deepened his fascination with the human side of intelligence, resilience, and the stories people build to endure difficult realities.

Today, Alan serves as an analyst with the Department of Veterans Affairs, concentrating on emerging technologies and their impact on veterans’ care and national-level systems. These experiences—paired with his background in psychology, interpersonal dynamics, and high-pressure decision environments—inspire the emotional and thematic depth of his fiction.

He is the author of the Ghosts of Oblivion series—beginning with Echoes Beyond the Shadows and continuing with Ghost and Flame and Signal and Ash—a romantasy-thriller fusion where operatives, assassins, and haunted survivors fight through betrayal, trauma, and impossible choices. His work blends the intensity of romantasy with the grounded tension of modern espionage, channeling real-world insight into tradecraft, identity, and the human cost of secrets.

When he’s not writing, Alan and his wife co-run a family business in Virginia, raise children, build big things from scratch, and prove that survival isn’t just a theme in his books—it’s a way of life.

I share early drafts, companion music, and quiet updates with readers who want to go deeper.
